Biography

Dr. Vera received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Mexico in 2004 and 2008 respectively. He has specialized in embedded system design for aerospace applications and dynamic partial reconfiguration applications using FPGAs. He has worked on radiation effects mitigation techniques for FPGA-based systems and custom ASICs as well as radiation effects testing at different facilities around the country. Dr. Vera has numerous publications and has also been an invited lecturer on digital design and digital signal processing using FPGAs in numerous countries. His current areas of interest are reconfigurable computing, digital signal processing and cognitive radio.
